Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is one based on true customer service and support. A true desire to treat each and every customer as they are they only one that we have. It’s one thing to sell a product or service, this is the easy part. The true test of a company and it’s devotion is to be there as a business partner, there for the long haul. This is our mission and our focus at Lightstream Communications. Experience the difference, experience Lightstream.

What are your areas of operations?
Our focus has been in both Iraq and Afghanistan, but we can work anywhere globally. Part of our core business is network consulting and we have been doing this spanning over a decade in over 30 countries.
There are only 3 fiber networks in Iraq and these are used solely by the main carriers. These carriers connect to different areas outside of Iraq (Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Turkey, and soon to be Jordan). Outside of these companies, nobody actually owns any carrier fiber in country. We are far different in that we have a pool of bandwidth from all the main carriers and are able to provide our customers with a network optimized for both speed and reliability. We have very close relationships with the carriers, which also allows us to dynamically adjust your services to best suit your needs. Our network also allows for us to get you up and on-line in a very short amount of time. Additionally, we also work with VSAT providers that have excellent offerings for backup links and/or links for smaller offices that don’t need the high bandwidth and low latency that fiber provides.
How do you deliver fiber optic based internet to your customers?
There are 2 mechanisms for this. First, if possible, we can have fiber buried directly to you location. However, this is not often done due to the expense and the time that it takes to accomplish this. As a much more cost (and time) efficient alternative, we frequently use high-capacity 802.11a (5GHz) microwave radios. Our radios utilize both MIMO as well as diversity. This allows for miles of clean and reliable delivery and the ability for a customer to quickly move, if needed. In some areas, we also use point-to-multipoint radios for customers that move often or need a semi-mobile connection. A properly installed and configured radio delivery device does not slow the connection down at all and typically only adds 1-2ms of latency. As a note, wireless delivery can be very tricky based on the environment. Lightstream Communications has been doing this for over a decade via OFDM/OFDMA, CDMA/SCDMA, WiFi, and WiMAX using equipment from Navini Networks, Cisco Systems, Northern Telecom/Nortel, Motorola, Alcatel, NEC, Redline, Dragonwave, Ubiquity, and Mikrotik.
